Municipal Court Information:
Adult Court is typically held every non-holiday Tuesday of every month.
Juvenile Court is typically held every first (1st) and third (3rd) non-holiday Tuesday of every month.
If you have received a Summons to Municipal Court, your appearance in court is mandatory. Failure to appear will result in a warrant being issued for your arrest and could also constitute a separate offense.
If you have received a Municipal Penalty Assessment (traffic citation) where a fine may be paid, you have the following options:
- Pay the fine within 20 days and you may be eligible to receive a point reduction against your Colorado Driver’s License.
- If you wish to appear in Court do not pay the fine. Instead, appear at the Municipal Court on the date and time indicated on your citation. Your case may be set for trial.
Crime victims and their families may be eligible to receive payment from the Glenwood Springs Victim and Witness Assistance and Law Enforcement Board (VALE) for some of the financial loss resulting from violent crimes or property crimes. You can download a brochure here
Funds for the VALE Program come from fines collected by the Glenwood Springs Municipal Court. Persons who are convicted of ordinance or traffic violations are assessed a surcharge in addition to their fines. These surcharge funds are used to help crime victims and the Police.
