The City of Glenwood Springs Police Department is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Police Records Clerk.
The Police Records Clerk performs entry level clerical and administrative duties for the Police Department. Examples of these duties include answering phones, directing calls, greeting customers, receiving complaints and corresponding information, customer service, dispatch, filing, typing, and basic record keeping. This position will interact with diverse agencies and people and will maintain a high level of confidentiality of sensitive information contained within department records. There will be call dispatching and specific computer requirements taught. The Police Records Clerk must be able to function in a highly stressful and highly active environment.
To be considered for this position, you must be a high school graduate or equivalent. You must demonstrate good typing skills and rudimentary computer literacy. You must possess the ability to calmly and professionally deal with irate citizens in person and on the telephone. You must possess the ability to stay calm in crisis situations and have the ability to learn and use proper radio procedures when dispatching calls. You must possess knowledge of basic math, filing systems, operation of basic office equipment such as fax, copier, and shredder. You must have the ability to interact with diverse agencies and people appropriately, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of sensitive information contained within department records.
CCIC/NCIC certified and competency preferred. Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written forms are highly desirable.
